Nice event but to make it even better I think someone who has a vent/TS server should make a girl event channel and any girl who wishes to come to the event can pm you for the ip, join and then have a blast, because that way you can weed out all the people pretending to be girls (your bound to get 1 or 2 there)

On the subject of guys pretending to be girls, I remember I played another mmo and aparently there was this person who said she was a girl, showed image and generally acted like one, but half a year later into the game HE slipped up and ended up getting kicked from the guild.
What he did was make up some name (rl one) and find some average image on the net and say that he couldn't use vent due to strict parents, I never believed he was a girl or a guy, I was suspicious...but with him pretending to be one with a hot picture soo many people have given him items and access to leveling groups etc.
It just makes me sick when people try to do this, and it makes me more sick when guys give in to women(or guy acting like one) and give them lots of privleges and items because there female, I'd rather see people treating them how I do, which is like any other player...but I guess you cannot stop them since some people still think women/girls on the net is rare ~_~

Anyways~ lol good luck and hope my idea helps

I'll pass the words along to my guildies, we have 3 women (not girls, they're all over 18yr). I'm not sure how much interest they will be, seeing that they do HA & AB most of the time.

I'll be there. This sounds like a fun way to meet some other girls in the game.

Just ignore all the gripers in this post. They're just the same folks that gripe about every post.

I play GW because I enjoy it. I don't reveal my gender unless someone asks and it really doesn't matter to me whether my PUG group is all guys or girls or aliens. I only care about there skill level in the game. I tend to assume the male chars are guys and the female chars are women just because of the visual reference. I know a lot of the female chars are really guys behind the scenes, but what difference does it make?? 99% of these folks I'll never see again once the pug breaks up, so I couldn't care less who they really are.

This sounds like a fun event and I'm glad Villiany was chosen. My characters have not made it to most of the high end areas yet so I'm glad something was chosen that I can participate in. My Monk has just made it to LA and hasn't completed Villiany yet so I'll probably bring her.

Hehehe.... ^_^

Kessex Girls. Good one! ^_^

Villainy of Galrath? Its the GW equivalent of all going to the toilet together. =P

Truth be told, I'm not in the habit of telling people my gender in-game... and I play characters of both classes. Thats not so much because I don't want people to find out... but because it honestly isn't important. Its not important enough (nor valid enough) to complain that girls can't / don't play games... but its also not important enough to start screaming "girl power" and parading about.
Those with more than half a brain-cell honestly don't care about all that.
What matters to me isn't what another player has between their legs but between their ears.

I like the idea, but I’m afraid publishing in an open forum like this will open it up to be sabotaged by a bunch of immature adolescents that think it’s funny to act like brain dead assholes.

This thread is for the discussion of an in-game event. It is not for discussion on boy vs. girl, the oppression of a gender, the history of gaming and gender, or any other subject. If you would like to start separate threads on those topics please head over to our Off-Topic forum.

Is someone going to record the event on gamecam or something like that ( preferably something better then gamecam, actually... ) ?
That would make it more epic, and give people a better look at how your playing.

Despite persistent rumors to the contrary, girls do, in fact, exist on the internet, and play games - including Guild Wars. It does still seem to be hard for folks to accept, and sometimes it can be tiresome being the only girl on the team with seven guys, some of whom don't even believe that actual girls play this game.

To celebrate girl gamers and create a space for us just to have a good time playing together, Girl Power guild is sponsoring a weekly all girl gamer event, "Girl Power Hour!" The first one will be held this Sunday, February 25th.

Much like the weekly all-mesmer or all-beastmaster Zoo Crew events that you may have heard of, Girl Power Hour will meet at a set place and time each weekend. From there, we'll form up teams and head out to do something fun together - Clear Tomb of Primeval Kings? Sorrows Furnace quests? Domain of Anguish questing? The Deep? Urgoz? Fissure of Woe? Underworld? Get Master's reward for missions on the upcoming "hard mode?" All of those and more, eventually.

Our first event will be to find Galrath, and put an end to his villainy. We will meet in what will be our meeting place every weekend, the Temple of the Ages, International District 1, at what will be our meeting time every weekend, 1:00 PM Eastern Time (10:00 AM Pacific, 6:00 PM GMT). Girls only, please. Of course, there's no way to check the player behind the avatar, but boys discovered hiding behind female characters will be mocked mercilessly.

What: Girl Power Hour - Girls Pwning Galrath

Where: Temple of the Ages, International District 1

When: Sunday, February 25, 1:00 PM Eastern, 10:00 AM Pacific, 6:00 PM GMT

Who: Girl Gamers

Why: Because girls kick butt!
I just took my warrior on a solo run to Kessex Peak to find Galrath, and I had alot of running to do, but I made it, and it was the most fun I have had in a long time... I finally beat Galrath, but being solo, it took me about 15 minutes to defeat him.... but was well worth it..... a fun run, and you all are going to have a great time... Enjoy...

To those complaining about how the Galrath mission is noob. All I have to say is who cares.

If anything if I was a girl id join in for the fun. Theres no hassle/irritation like one will get in DOA or Urgoz and its a quest not limited to staple team builds like Urgoz ad The Deep have become. And in the end i dont like the concept of "noob quest" as there was a time all of us struggled on Galrath way back in the day of our noobness so perhaps there will be "noob" female players and the experienced can not only partake in the quest for fun but take some sense of pride and accomplishment in knowing they helped there fellow woman learn the ropes a bit better.

It seems this fun gathering is not somethign to acomplish so much as somethign to enjoy. So I say to those of the fairer sex have fun and join in.

It makes me jealous though cause what can we guys do to compete against this gathering of woman power? Oh sure we could all gather round for an all dudes gathering but our questing would probably be obliterated when we all got our characters drunk

In the end the gathering is ment for fun which is why we get this game to begin with so to all them going have fun. Hell if I had a pair of boobs Id go

Sounds like a great idea, hope it goes well and hope I get to hear more non-14 year old guy voices on vent.

Maybe if us guys are lucky Anet will organize a steak, beer and chest hair weekend event for us.

Turned up to the event today and had a great time. The group I was in killed Galrath with ease and since we did it so fast, we went to Nahpui Quarter for an attempt on Masters. Ended up with Expert, but had a good time.

Hope to see you next week
